Heart of Bengali Culture
Our Journey
From that one festival, Utsav has grown into a year-round calendar of celebrations:
Durga Puja
Kali Puja (Diwali)
Christmas Party
Saraswati Puja
Bengali New Year
Summer Coach Day Out
Annual BBQ
The club subsidises every event so that families can reunite, celebrate and enjoy Bengali culture together.
We are working hard to make Baro Mase Tero Parbon (thirteen festivals in twelve months) a reality at Utsav. We still have some miles to travel, but we have already covered a lot of ground, and we now have plenty of occasions to celebrate life together.
What's in It for You?
You may be wondering, "What's there for me?" The truth is that life at Utsav is not complete without your magic touch.
For the food lover
If you take pride in your cooking, you're in the right place. We need volunteers to join our talented kitchen team, led by chefs from five-star hotels. We're not bragging, it's true! They dream of touching hearts with mouth-watering food, and we'd love you to join them.
For the singer and the dancer
Whether you sing (in the bathroom or beyond) or love your own moves, look no further. Get in touch with our Cultural Secretary and take the stage.
For the next generation
We are committed to passing our heritage, culture and traditions on to our children. Recitation, Rabindra Sangeet and kids' dance programmes are performed on stage regularly, and new themes are added with enthusiastic participation from our members. Watch our young performers shine on our social media feeds and on our website. (Link)
For the ideas person
Come and join us. Share your ideas, lead the show and help us bring more variety to our events, so they are more enjoyable, attractive, meaningful and relevant. A fashion show, an annual cricket match and a Holi celebration are just a few thoughts for now, and the list will keep growing. Let's create the magic of Utsav together!
For those who'd rather relax
Prefer to sit back and enjoy the moment? You are most welcome, and you won't be alone. Your views and suggestions will always be respected as we make each Utsav better than the last.
Come celebrate with us. Everyone is welcome.

One Community, Many Celebrations
Each event at Utsav is a chance for a different generation to step forward.
Durga Puja
Our biggest celebration, with no fee and no charge at the gate. Families come together for prayers, anjali, bhog, cultural performances and the joy of Dhaki-filled festivities. It is the heart of Utsav.
Kali Puja (Diwali)
A night of light and devotion, where families gather to honour Maa Kali and celebrate the victory of light over darkness.
Saraswati Puja
A special day for our children and students. Young ones take part in the rituals, offer anjali and begin their year with blessings for learning, music and the arts.
Bengali New Year (Pohela Boishakh)
A celebration of Bengali identity through music, poetry, traditional dress and festive food, with performances from all age groups.
Christmas Party
A warm, inclusive winter gathering that shows our community's spirit of togetherness and joy for all.
Summer Coach Day Out & Annual BBQ
Relaxed days for families to bond, play, laugh and build friendships beyond the festivals.
Inclusive by Design
At Utsav, no one is left on the sidelines. Whether you are five or eighty-five, a performer or a listener, a cook or a first-time visitor, there is a place for you. Every event is subsidised by the club so that no family is left out because of cost.
Our belief is simple: when everyone takes part, traditions stay alive.
Be Part of the Story
Do you want your child to learn Bengali culture through hands-on participation? Do you want to understand the traditions behind the festivals? Or would you like to volunteer your time and talent?
Come and join us. Together, we are preserving generations of traditions, one celebration at a time.
